The Knights of Columbus has established this Web site to keep people up to date on Pope Benedict XVI’s April 15-20 visit to the United States. The Catholic Cable Network EWTN is cosponsoring the site.
The site provides a variety of interactive items related to the pope’s itinerary, the history of the papacy and the United States, and also features regular news updates on the pope to allow people to familiarize themselves with this man and to follow the pope’s journey to the United States more closely.
“We realize that there are far more people who would like to see the pope during this trip than will be able to do so,” said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson.
“We hope that this site will allow people to better understand the pope before his visit, and to follow closely his activities in the United States.”
The site includes biographical information on the pope, links to his books and writings, a history of the popes and the United States, and news about the pope and his planned trip. The site will also feature prayers for the pope’s trip, a blog, and live streaming coverage of papal events via EWTN.
Pope Benedict will be in the United States from April 15 to 20, 2008, visiting New York and Washington, D.C.
EWTN is the global Catholic television network based in Irondale, Alabama. |
